Entertainment Weekly informa que el director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) ha sido elegido por 20th Century Fox para encargarse de dirigir la cinta en solitario del mutante Gambito (Gambit) y spin-off de la franquicia X-Men. El guiuón fue escrito por Josh Zetumer (Robocop).
La película, producida por Channing Tatum, Lauren Schuler Donner, Simon Kinberg y Reid Carolin. Será protagonizada por Channing Tatum como Remy LeBeau/Gambito, y llegará a las salas mundiales el 7 de octubre de 2016.
